Thoughts

I can't do a proper review because I changed the pattern technically. I decided that I wanted to do a bigger stitch because I have a hard time counting single stitch rows so my brain told me if you do double stitch you just have to double the amount of horizontal stitches and everything will be even and you will have a bigger blanket

only I didn't realize how much of a bigger blanket I was going to have. This was my first graphgan so it was a learning experience. There were moments where I was confused and you can tell in certain areas where for the first few color change rows I was color changing on the wrong stitch. but I figured it out as I went. Still ended up with a nice blanket and yes I do intend to do some more patterns from between the covers.

Blurb:

“Well, Antonius,” the magistrate said, “you are without question a licentious and disreputable young man. You have disgraced a noble patrician name and sullied your character in the lowest of pursuits, and we have received testimony that you are not only a drunkard and a gambler—but an outright murderer as well.”

With an opening like that, the old vulture was sending him to the block for sure. Antony shrugged, philosophically; he’d known it was unlikely his family could have scraped together enough of a bribe to get him let go. Claudius’s family was a damn sight richer than his; and in any case he could hardly imagine his stepfather going to the trouble.

Favorite Character:

Antony,

Favorite Quotes

"We sent a man to count its teeth, but he seems to be doing it from inside the creature’s belly."

Where the hell is the lion?” Antony said.

“I was hungry,” the dragon said, unapologetically.

“You ate the lion?” Antony said, still half dazed, and then he stared at the dragon again. “You ate the lion,” he repeated, in dawning wonder.

“Yes, and I would like some more food now,”

She also demanded three goats a day, a side helping of something sweet, and jewelry, which didn’t make her all that different from most of the other women of Antony’s acquaintance.

Thoughts:

This was cute and kind of funny, Vici as usually is smart viscous lady who protects her man. I'm seeing this is the where dragon riding started.

Earth. Fire. Air. Water.

One misstep and they lose it all. For the last time.

Michael Merrick understands pressure. He's the only parent his three brothers have had for years. His power to control Earth could kill someone if he miscalculates. Now an Elemental Guide has it in for his family, and he's all that stands in the way.

His girlfriend, Hannah, understands pressure too. She's got a child of her own, and a job as a firefighter that could put her life in danger at any moment.

But there are people who have had enough of Michael's defiance, his family's 'bad luck'. Before he knows it, Michael's enemies have turned into the Merricks' enemies, and they're armed for war.

They're not interested in surrender. But Michael isn't the white flag type anyway. Everything is set for the final showdown.

Four elements, one family. Will they hold together, or be torn apart?

Pre read Thoughts:

Michael's story, I've been waiting for this one. Maybe it's because he is the one adult in this situation. And also Hannah would be cool to see her perspective on things especially since she has James and we have no idea who the father is and if he might be one of them. So far they have killed 2 known guides and now have a war. On their hands. The guides know about hunter and Becca now and Becca's dad. And that there is a literal army of pre-teen elementals that could get themselves killed.

Time for the final showdown.

Post read Thoughts:

We lost Hunter, like how, why, what no none of them were supposed to die.

It was an interesting end to the series. It feels like it's not over like there could be so much more but this is the end of the series.... supposedly.

As far as my thoughts on the entire series. It was very high school. There was a lot of high school type drama. but if I had read this in high school my friend group would have read it too and each one of us would have had our own brother that we claimed as ours, writing their names in our notebooks with hearts and everything.
