Thoughts:

So we begin again with our femme fatale turning down a job. I'm beginning to sense a trend.

Also we're learning more about Anita's past. Voodoo yeah we don't mess with the shadow man.

So we're almost 4 hours in before we see our sexy vampire 🧛‍♂️

So let's count our cases

We have rich guy that Anita refused who is threatening Anita.

Man Eating zombie.

Dead animator friend.

Voodoo Priestess who is also after Anita

What does Jean Claude want exactly?

Ronnie the BFF getting in trouble with Anita but she still just rolls with it.

All this converges into one main bad guy and Anita becoming super Saiyan necromancer queen.

Thoughts:

Though this is technically a re listen I don't think I was in the proper mood the first time I listened to this one. Because I don't remember much I think I'm in the proper mindset now so time to give a re listen

Btw I’m going to date myself but this book was published when I was 3 years man it gives me so much 90s nostalgia.

This is a long series so i’m going to try and keep up with whose who.

So we have Anita our feme fatale, we jean claude our master vampire who is infatuated with Anita. Of course he could treat all the ladies that way. We have a string of vampire murders. Oh and theirs a strip club.

Review

It very much had a film noir vibe to it. We have Anita, our femme fatale, who is “encouraged” to investigate a string of recent vampire murders. She solves the case with copious amounts of murder mayhem.

One of the things I had a hard time with was that, in the first half of the book, there were several characters introduced that already had a significant history with our femme fatale. So many and so much, that it felt like I was jumping into the 3rd or 4th book in the series not the first. I still enjoyed it and Phillip made me cry.
